The American Diploma Program at Al-Manar Language School offers a dynamic, student-centered educational experience that prepares learners for university studies and life in an increasingly globalized world. Established in 2005 in response to growing demand from our school community, the program provides a comprehensive K–12 education aligned with international standards, delivered in a supportive and engaging environment.
Curriculum Overview
Our American Diploma curriculum follows a credit-based system and is structured to provide a balanced education across all core disciplines. Students progress through four academic quarters each year, completing a full 180-day academic calendar from September to mid-June.
The curriculum is aligned with U.S. Common Core Standards and College and Career Readiness benchmarks, ensuring academic rigor and relevance. Subjects are taught in English and include:
English Language Arts
Mathematics (Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, etc.)
Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science)
Social Studies (World History, U.S. History, Economics)
Arabic Language and Religion (as required by the Ministry of Education)
Business Studies, Information Technology, Psychology, Art, and Physical Education
Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors courses are available for high-achieving students, offering college-level academic experiences and the opportunity to earn university credit.
Accreditation and Assessment
Al-Manar’s American Section is fully accredited by Cognia (formerly AdvancED), a globally recognized accreditation body that ensures educational quality and continuous improvement. Our program also maintains affiliations with:
College Board – for SAT and AP testing
ACT – for college admissions readiness
MAP Testing (NWEA) – for benchmarking student progress
Our students regularly sit for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, and EST, and they receive academic counseling and preparation for university admission both in Egypt and abroad.

Graduation Requirements
To earn the American Diploma, students must complete the required number of credits across core subjects and electives, pass standardized assessments, and meet Ministry’s equivalency requirements if applying to Egyptian universities.
